Help For Every Step

September 2, 2026 · Pastor Marc Williamson · 50:53

A feverish baby in the middle of the night, a stack of unpaid bills, a doctor's hard report, a prodigal child heading for destruction: sooner or later, every one of us comes to a place where we cannot go on without help. Psalm 121 was one of the songs Israel's pilgrims sang on the long, uphill road to Jerusalem, and it speaks to every believer on the climb toward heaven. The traveler looks to the dangerous hills around him and finds nothing there. He looks inside himself and finds he is not enough. Then he lifts his eyes to the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, and his song turns to praise. The God who holds the sun together by His power is the One who provides for His children, steadies their footing, watches over them through the night, shades them from the heat, guards their weakest side, and preserves them from this time forth, and even for evermore. He covers the ordinary routines of everyday life as well as eternity itself. No matter how steep the climb, the believer's help is already on the way.
