The Fall & Fallout, Part 3
Genesis 3 explains why the world is the way it is, full of deception, disease and division. It also reminds us how lost we were and why. But it reveals something else: God had a plan to rescue us from the very beginning.
Key Verse: "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." - Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
When Adam and Eve sinned, their eyes were opened, and they sewed fig leaves together to cover their shame. False religion was born that day: man's attempt to cover his own sin by his own effort. Then they hid from the presence of the Lord. In this third message on the fall from A Journey Through Genesis, Pastor Marc Williamson looks at the shame and separation sin produces and at God's first promise of a Redeemer, the seed of the woman who would crush the serpent's head.
Fig leaves could never cover sin. Only the Lamb God promised in Genesis 3:15 could do that.
