The Feasts of the LORD - The Sabbath

May 18, 2025 · Pastor Marc Williamson · 46:45

Jesus said the Scriptures testify of Him, and if you don't see Christ in the Bible you are missing the point of it. The first appointment on God's calendar in Leviticus 23 was not a yearly feast at all, but the weekly Sabbath.

Key Verse: "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." - Hebrews 4:9-10 (KJV)

God rested on the seventh day, not because He was tired, but because His work was finished. In this message from our series on the feasts, Pastor Marc Williamson traces the Sabbath from creation through the law to Hebrews 4, and shows that it pointed to a greater rest: the rest a sinner enters when he stops working for salvation and trusts the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Christ is our Sabbath rest. To reject the rest He offers is far more serious than breaking any day on a calendar.
