The Stain and the Solution

April 9, 2025 · Pastor Marc Williamson · 45:46

Have you ever confessed a sin and still felt guilty? Many believers carry guilt long after God has forgiven them, and some even think that feeling guilty is part of their punishment. In Psalm 51, David shows us both the stain sin leaves and God's solution for it.

Key Verse: "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." - Psalm 51:7 (KJV)

After his sin with Bathsheba, David came to God with a broken and contrite heart. He confessed his sin openly and asked God to blot out his transgressions, wash him and create a clean heart within him. In this message, Pastor Marc Williamson walks through David's prayer and shows how Christ blotted out the handwriting that was against us and nailed it to His cross, and why we still confess our sins as believers.

David's season of sin was followed by confession, cleansing, restored joy and renewed service. God does not want His children living under the weight of guilt He has already removed.
