Truth for Trials

God does not waste our trials. Sometimes He allows a trial to show us what we could not see about our own hearts. In Genesis 22, God tested Abraham with the hardest command he would ever receive.

Key Verse: "And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together." - Genesis 22:8 (KJV)

God told Abraham to take his only son Isaac, whom he loved, to Mount Moriah and offer him there. Abraham rose up early and obeyed. Returning to this rich passage from A Journey Through Genesis, Pastor Marc Williamson draws out truths for the times God tests our faith: trials reveal where our faith really is, they call for trusting God's word rather than our feelings, and the God who tests us is Jehovah Jireh, who has already gone before us and provided.

In a time of trial you don't need your feelings to lead you. You need a word from God and faith to obey it.
