The Presentation of Jesus - Part 3

Most Christians know what happened at the manger, but few know what happened next. Luke 2 tells of two faithful saints who met the infant Jesus in the temple. The last of them was an 84-year-old widow named Anna.

Key Verse: "And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day." - Luke 2:37 (KJV)

Anna married young, lost her husband after only seven years and spent the decades that followed serving God in the temple day and night. In this third message on the presentation of Jesus, Pastor Marc Williamson holds up Anna's life as a picture of how not to waste yours. Her trials didn't drive her away from God; they drove her deeper in devotion. When she saw the Christ child, she gave thanks and spoke of Him to all who looked for redemption.

Like Job, Anna came through the fire refined like gold. Let your trials deepen your devotion, and spend your life telling others about Christ.
