The Résumé of the King - Part 4
More than 700 years before Bethlehem, Isaiah gave the coming King a résumé. One of His names is The mighty God. If Jesus isn't God, the church has assembled in vain. There is no salvation and no gospel.
Key Verse: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
In this fourth part of The Résumé of the King, from our Behold Your King series, Pastor Marc Williamson shows from both the Old and New Testaments that the Child born in Bethlehem is fully God. He points to the vastness of space, which shows how small we are and how great our God is. He also shows what that means for the believer: when we are weak and others turn to pills or prescriptions, we can turn to the mighty God, whose strength is made perfect in our weakness.
When you think you can't go on, turn to Christ, the mighty God.
